What types of built-in filtered water dispensers does Elkay offer?
Elkay offers two built-in filtered water dispensers to meet your needs and preferences, one offering chilled water, and one offering ambient water. Designed to seamlessly fit any space, it’s a sleek, convenient addition to any room, from your entertaining space to the master suite, and even the kitchen.
What are the features and benefits for the ezH2O Liv?
Built-in Design: Homeowners can enjoy an interactive experience by installing a filtered water dispenser in convenient areas of the home, inside — and outside the kitchen. Place anywhere near a water line and electrical, including mudrooms, recreation rooms, playrooms and even in a second-floor hallway. Designed for new construction or remodels.
Fun and Convenient: Self-serve design allows homeowners to spend more time with guests and less time running to the kitchen for water.
Fresh, Filtered Water: Long-lasting filter is NSF certified to put cleaner, healthier water within reach by reducing lead and other harmful contaminants. Filters with lead-reduction capabilities are not standard and are rarely found on refrigerators with water dispensers. Water purchased in plastic bottles is susceptible to chemical leaching over time, altering the taste.
Filter Status Lights: Colorful lights indicate when the filter needs to be changed, so homeowners always know they are serving filtered water.
Chic Styling: Sleek glass front with brushed stainless steel alcove looks great in any room. Intuitive alcove lighting brightens when dispensing water.
Sensor Activated: Hands-free filling with automatic timed shut off to help prevent accidental spills and messes.
Safety Lock: Optional setting prevents unsupervised use; ideal for families with small children or pets.
Bottles Saved: Backlit LED Green Ticker™ counts the number of 20 oz. disposable single-use plastic bottles served without the plastic bottle waste.
Easy Installation: Fits within the width and depth of two wall studs; includes a drip tray with optional drain connection.

When this indicator light comes on, a replacement filter should be ordered.

Lead
What is lead? Where does it come from?
For centuries, lead has been widely used in plumbing systems that transport water. Despite changes in plumbing codes making it illegal to use lead pipes or solder, lead is still found in older pipes, solder and brass fittings in existing plumbing systems. Lead is toxic and continuous exposure to lead can cause a variety of health problems, especially in infants and children. Please visit epa.gov/lead to learn more.

What does the bottle counter track?

The serial data tag is located on the inside right wall of the main enclosure, just above the junction box. Use this serial number when contacting Elkay with questions concerning the installation of this product.
Is ezH2O Liv compatible with reverse osmosis water?
The only component that is not compatible with RO water is the copper inlet tube going to the filter. In a chilled unit, simply remove the copper inlet tube and replace with the 3/8 water supply being used from the RO device (plastic or stainless steel). The chiller (ERS11Y) has all stainless steel waterways and is perfect for use with RO systems.
For ambient units, we recommend remote mounting of our filter like the install for a chilled unit. Alternatively, the copper L-shaped inlet tube could be removed from the filter in the filter box and replaced with a suitable stainless steel bent tube or elbow.
The unit will not function properly unless an Elkay filter is used. Regardless of installation method, the RO water will need to also run through the Elkay filter.
